NSX – Door Checks – Part 6

The most important part of the race car - door checks.

You herd right; door checks are an integral part of all race cars. It makes no sense to me why any race team removes them. Too much brooding? #welcometoracelife - lol

Coming into the shop your first greeting is the smell of VP fuel and Tires.

Mounted the tires and they are on the livery. Yes, they are a little narrow.

Did we make a mistake? This is the widest competition tire that Toyo makes in 17. There's also no rim protection on competition tires...

We are in the final checks before we crank the motor for oil pressure. It also means we have to remove the old stale race gas and put in a gallon of fresh VP103.

A little change here and there over the engine management software parameters. It's been sometime since I have looked at EMS Series 1 and right away I recalled how much fun it was to navigate a maze of obscure options just to find what I want to change.

Oil pressure looks good and so we re enable settings on the ecu, and fire the motor up...

Fires up on first try and the car idles - a little rough, but that can fixed with a little EFI magic (Chapter 7).

Race car goals! --- And then you realize this is only the 50% mark.
